Sun Devil Athletics and the Sun Devil Club are proud to announce the creation of this fund, a lasting tribute established by Jo-Ann and Lowry Barfield to honor the life, legacy and impact of former Sun Devil Triathlon student-athlete Hannah Henry.
Henry, a standout member of the Sun Devil Triathlon program from 2017-2021, tragically passed away following a hit-and-run accident on February 8, 2026. During her time at Arizona State University, she established herself as one of the most accomplished student-athletes in program history, capturing two individual national titles in 2017 and 2018 and helping lead the Sun Devils to four national team championships.
Henry graduated summa cum laude in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in business entrepreneurship and a minor in nutrition and healthy living. She later earned a Master of Global Management in 2023 with a concentration in sustainability solutions.
Created out of the Barfield’s generosity and commitment to preserving Hannah's memory, this gift will provide support for future Sun Devil Triathlon student-athletes while serving as a meaningful way for teammates, friends, family members, alumni and supporters to celebrate Hannah's enduring legacy through future contributions.
We lost an incredible person who had wonderful relationships throughout our program. Her passing has left us with tremendous grief because she was more than a great student-athlete. She was a proud Sun Devil who cared deeply about this program and everyone connected to it."
